Product updates - Netherlands

1. Year closing and the end of netting

The netting scheme (salderingsregeling) ends on 1 January 2027. Year-end is always a busy period for suppliers. This year, every supplier must review how existing and new contracts handle consumption and feed-in: prices, feed-in costs, VAT on feed-in compensation and customer communication.

Ecedo already supports the transition. How you use it depends on the propositions and prices you choose for 2027, cost-tiered or per kWh, so define those in time. How you use it depends on the propositions and prices you choose for 2027, as well as the contract changes that may be required for existing customers to reflect the end of the netting scheme and related energy-law changes, so define those in time.

Ecedo supports:
•    price changes within fixed contracts as of 1 January, also for contracts with price blocks
•    feed-in costs per kWh
•    0% VAT on feed-in compensation
•    automatic separation of consumption and feed-in for market-price contracts

Your customer success manager can help you with the review and the planning. Existing customers can also ask them for our step-by-step transition guide.

2. Smart device contracts next to the energy contract

Suppliers can now offer contracts for their customers' smart devices, such as home batteries and EV chargers, next to the energy contract. The supplier or a steering partner controls the devices, for example to respond to imbalance prices. The results are invoiced to the customer based on an agreed revenue share, if needed together with a monthly service contract.

This gives suppliers a smart energy trading product that works with any device, and a way to share the revenue with their customers. With netting ending on 1 January 2027, it is especially interesting for customers with solar panels. You decide the proposition and the revenue share, and you contract and invoice the customer.

How it works, from sign-up to payout:

  1. Sign-up: the customer chooses a smart device contract in the GridHub onboarding flow, next to the energy contract. Each device gets a unique reference.
  2. Steering: the steering partner retrieves the device data via API, steers the device and sends the charging sessions back via API.
  3. Billing: Ecedo registers the device and the contract, applies the revenue share and invoices the sessions. Customers receive a monthly credit invoice.
  4. Insight: customers see the results of their sessions in the GridHub customer portal.

Status: new smart device contracts can be offered and onboarded now. Upselling a smart device to existing customers via GridHub and showing session results in the mobile app are expected in Q1 2027.

3. Flexible fixed pricing with new feature: ‘’Price Blocks’’

Flexible fixed pricing combines a fixed electricity contract with time-based tariffs. It sits between fixed and dynamic contracts: customers get price predictability and a reason to shift consumption, without the volatility of fully dynamic prices.

With Price Blocks, suppliers choose their own time blocks and set a price per block, for both consumption and feed-in. Blocks are set in whole quarter-hours, cannot overlap, and can differ between working days and weekends or holidays, and between seasons. A lower price in a set window, for example between 12:00 and 16:00, moves consumption to the moments that suit your portfolio. Customers keep the agreed prices of their fixed contract and are protected from market price swings.

For suppliers, this means more competitive and distinctive propositions and better control over the portfolio, with predictable contract prices and automated billing. How well it works depends on the tariff design, how customers use energy and how well the blocks match market conditions.

Status: Price Blocks have been available in Ecedo since Q1 2026. Full integration with GridHub, including a clear view for end customers, is expected in Q1 2027.

4. Fewer surprises and less manual work in billing

Three updates in GridHub, working together with Ecedo, help suppliers avoid surprises for their customers and remove manual steps.

4.1. Expected settlement amount. To minimise surprises when the final annual settlement is issued, suppliers can give customers an interim forecast of their annual settlement. This helps customers choose the right advance payment. The forecast is generated automatically for active platform users and calculated in the background for the entire customer base. It is based on the advance payments already invoiced and the expected consumption in the remaining months until the annual settlement. Released in Q1 2026, refined throughout the year and in use with suppliers.

4.2. Loyalty bonus correction. Some customers deliberately overestimate their expected annual consumption when they sign a contract, to receive a higher loyalty bonus or cashback at the end of the term. This update compares the declared consumption with the actual consumption in the most recent annual settlement, and adds a correction invoice line in Ecedo during the "Waiting for adjustments" step. That prevents a lot of manual work. You decide whether customers also receive an extra bonus when their actual consumption is higher than declared, and you can set a maximum positive and negative adjustment percentage. For example, if actual consumption exceeds the upper limit of the consumption tier by more than 50%, the extra bonus is capped at 50%. Released in Q1 2026, refined throughout the year and now in test with a first supplier.

4.3. Advance payments on reseller commission. Per commission plan, suppliers can choose to pay part of the recurring commission to a reseller partner in advance. This covers commission based on energy consumption and fixed charges. The commission module shows the total already paid in advance, the actual commission earned through the Ecedo reseller log, the outstanding advance balance and the regular commission still payable after deducting the advances. Both the supplier and the partner see these insights. For every advance payment, an invoice line is generated automatically and can be included in the partner invoice. Released in Q3 2026, refined in Q4 and now in test with a first supplier.

5. Click products

With a click product, end customers lock in ("click") a fixed volume of energy at a fixed price for a set period. Suppliers can give customers price certainty on part of their volume, without fixing the price of the whole contract. Click products are available for business and residential customers, for electricity and gas.

The click is placed in Jules and sent to Ecedo, which uses it for invoicing.

Status: the core functionality is in Ecedo, and the integration with Jules is being tested. Availability for suppliers is expected in early 2027.

Product updates - Europe

1. Two ways to be a BRP

Whether you want to become a balance responsible party (BRP) with expert support behind you, or run your own BRP operation on a modern platform, EBASE now covers both.

  • BRP as a Service: first client live. We help market-challenger energy suppliers become a BRP themselves and take over the demanding back-office work. Eneve runs the critical data management processes and provides portfolio forecasting for the day-ahead and intraday markets, so the client can focus on trading. The service runs on Power Balancer. It is built for suppliers, traders and asset owners who want to be their own BRP without building the operational machinery and expertise behind it. They keep control of their trading and the margins that come with it, and reach the market faster with less operational risk. Our first client went live in mid-October 2026.

  • Power Balancer: our BRP solution, rebuilt for the cloud. Power Balancer is the next generation of our BRP solution. Today it runs on the EBASE Core Platform, with supporting scripts and a growing number of cloud components. We are rebuilding it as a fully cloud-native solution on modern, containerised infrastructure, so it is more flexible, scalable and future-proof. For suppliers, BRPs and traders who run balancing and settlement at scale, this means easier upgrades, less dependence on professional services, faster onboarding of new clients and volumes, and a solution that is ready for upcoming market changes.

Some foundations are already in place. The market-messaging core now runs as separate services, so it keeps up as volumes and client numbers grow. Modern APIs and streaming make it easier to connect your own systems, already live for time series and master data.

Status: Power Balancer is in development and delivered in stages. The first release for clients is planned for December 2026. In 2027 we extend it to more domains, such as master data and gas shipper functionality.

2. A new web interface for EBASE

A new web interface lets EBASE users do their daily work in the browser. It is organised around how the business actually operates and builds on the strong data foundations underneath, so it is easier to find your way around and get work done. For everyone from operators and analysts to managers, it means faster onboarding and a more natural daily experience.

Status: available now for selected areas of the platform, for interested clients, and growing with each release. Want to see it? Ask your customer success manager for a demo.

3. On the drawing board: Portfolio management for smaller suppliers

We are designing a light portfolio management solution for small and mid-sized energy suppliers who find full-scale systems too heavy or costly for their size. It will be simpler and quicker to adopt, with the essentials a smaller supplier needs to steer its portfolio.

Status: in design. We are validating the concept with existing clients. If it holds up, we aim to release a first version in 2027. Interested in shaping it? Talk to us.

The Newest Member of Eneve Products Suite: Nemon by Eneve

Nemon, which serves energy suppliers in Spain, is now part of Eneve Group. As Nemon by Eneve, it combines Nemon's experience in the Iberian market with the capabilities of Eneve Group, to help energy suppliers enter and grow in the Iberian market.

Entering Spain means working with new processes, market data and regulation from day one. Nemon Trade Energy is a modular SaaS platform for electricity and gas suppliers that covers the whole chain, from commercial prospecting to settlement with REE, the Spanish system operator. It automates contract processing and billing, operations on OMIE, the Iberian power exchange, and the download of meter data, SIPS consumption and market data. Regulatory updates, integrations with the regulator CNMC and official reports are part of the platform, so a new supplier keeps pace with regulation from the start.

Nemon SIPS turns data from SIPS, Spain's supply point information system, into information for operating, analysing and making decisions. The built-in CRM gives sales teams and partners one controlled, measurable sales process, commissions included.

Next comes Nemon Pulse: new analytics that give suppliers a clear view of their margins and billing, planned for December 2026.
